Landscaping Supervisor- Starting at $26.50 per hour - Military veterans preferred

Job Summary: Responsible for maintaining the grounds. This includes all flowerbeds, planters,
trees, shrubs, lawns, etc. Also responsible for snow removal during the winter
months.

Reports To: Facilities Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:
? Maintain the flowerbeds in the park. This includes designing the beds, preparing the soil, weed
removal, layout, planting, pruning and watering.
? Maintain all the grass areas of the property.
? Coordinate and perform the snow removal efforts for the property.
? Responsible for tree maintenance.
? Responsible for all Pesticide efforts for the property.
? Work with the Facilities Manager and other departments to facilitate their needs.
? Provide safe, user-friendly work areas.
? Supervise and schedule landscaping and mowing staff and insure assignments are completed on
time and in a quality manner.
? Complete Purchase Requisitions and order approved supplies to ensure that appropriate inventory
is on hand for all scheduled projects, work orders, and potential repairs.
? Assist the Facilities Manager in the budget process by determining needed supplies and labor.
? To train staff members to operate all equipment safely and efficiently.
? To present a good public image and show leadership capabilities.
? Ensure that all routine maintenance is being performed in a timely manner.
? Coordinate the repair, rehab and maintenance on all mowing, landscaping and snow removal
equipment.
? Maintain equipment as far as inspection, washing, etc…
? To keep all work areas clean, safe and in a professional manner.
? Must have secondary education degree in horticulture or the like or 5 years experience in field.
? Candidate should be familiar with pesticide application to oversee application by outside
companies. NYS pesticide license is favorable.
? Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time, climb stairs repeatedly, work outside in
the elements, lift 50# without injury. If prosthesis is needed to meet these requirements, it must
be used while on duty.
? Possess 20/20 corrected vision. Corrective lenses, if required, must be worn on duty.
? Possess normal or average corrected hearing (defined as 25 decibels or better in the frequency
range of 500hz-4000hz considered normal speech frequency range). If corrective device is worn,
it must be worn while on duty.
? Must possess a valid NYS Driver’s.
? Must be able to fulfill requirements for and obtain a Darien Lake Driver’s License.
? Responsible for any other duties as required by the Facilities Manager
