Our work depends on a Cloud Engineer joining our team to provide state of the art systems on cloud and applications based on products such as AWS, Oracle, SharePoint, and other web-based solutions.

HOW A CLOUD ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Lead the projects teams to integrate systems with a new web-based system, replacing the legacy enterprise messaging system, which will reside in the cloud environment.
  • Assist to setup AI/ML environments.
  • Assist to setup access to data in the enterprise messaging system to reduce manual review on responding to questions and automatically extract and tag important data.
  • Maintain systems and applications in the cloud environment.
  • Optimize operational efficiency of systems and applications in a cloud environment.
  • Work to ensure security compliance within the cloud infrastructure.
  • Design, develop, implement cloud-based solutions for optimization.
  • Maintain cloud-based solutions.
  • Deploy and debug cloud stacks.
  • Educate teams on new cloud initiatives.
  • Maintain the security of the cloud infrastructure.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • Required Experience: 8+ years of related experience.
  • Security clearance level: TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • PLEASE NOTE: This position has a requirement to carry the duty phone every 5 weeks which requires individual to be within a 2-hour period of recall. Position is designated as HRR.
  • Location: McLean, VA on customer site.
  • US Citizenship Required


Required Technical Skills:
  • Demonstrated experience providing Operations & Maintenance (O&M) support to production systems to include troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud platform administration such as Amazon Web Services.
  • Demonstrated experience with configuration and infrastructure management of technical components, including hardware, software, and data.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and continuing improvement of automation and procedures scripts.
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing and supporting cloud infrastructure such as Amazon Web Services.
  • Demonstrated experience monitoring system performance and recommending corrective action.
  • Demonstrated experience documenting cloud environment and maintaining the documentation.
  • Demonstrated experience with infrastructure-as-code software such as Terraform or Ansible.
  • Demonstrated experience with scripting languages such as Python.
  • Demonstrated experience with Linux or Linux Administration.
  • Demonstrated experience with software version control management such as GitHub.
  • Demonstrated experience with application build pipelines such as Jenkins.


Skills and abilities desired:
  • Demonstrated experience obtaining Sponsors authentication and accreditation certification for systems with highly sensitive data.
  • Demonstrated experience complying with Sponsor's regulations and policies regarding systems integration with external services (such as access control or auditing), patching and maintaining current versions of software, outage reporting, accessibility requirements, internal-use software reporting, or auditing.
  • Demonstrated experience using JIRA, Confluence or SharePoint.
  • Demonstrated experience providing excellent customer service.
  • Demonstrated experience briefing technical topics to a non-technical audience.
  • Demonstrated experience operating within the life cycle management process when implementing changes in technology.
  • Demonstrated experience effectively managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience excelling both independently and as a team member in a lively, collaborative environment and security best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience with problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with strong leadership abilities and experience juggling competing priorities.
  • AWS Certification or other relevant certifications.

Salary and Benefit Information
The likely salary range for this position is $124,950 - $187,424. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
