ProStaff Workforce Solutions is seeking a Forklift Operator for our client in Somerset, NJ.
Contract to Hire $19 hourly Schedule - Monday-Friday - 8 am-4:30pm plus overtime (if needed)
Job Description:
Operate Sit-Down Forklift: Safely and efficiently operate a sit-down forklift to move materials within the facility, ensuring proper handling and storage.
Loading and Unloading: Load and unload materials from trucks, pallets, racks, and other storage areas with precision to prevent damage to products.
Inventory Control: Accurately count and record inventory as materials are moved, ensuring proper documentation of stock levels.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment. Conduct pre-operational checks on forklifts and report any issues.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that all goods are handled and stored in a manner that preserves their quality and integrity.
Communication: Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth operations.
Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on forklifts, such as inspections and battery charging, to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
Workspace Maintenance: Keep the warehouse or manufacturing space clean and organized, including removing debris and maintaining clear aisles.
Adherence to Policies: Follow company policies, procedures, and guidelines related to safety, quality, and productivity.
Qualifications
High diploma, GED or equivalent.
Minimum of 3 years forklift experience.
Valid forklift certification/license is a plus
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, and withstand prolonged periods of sitting and operating the forklift.
Strong commitment to safety protocols and guidelines.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work.
Good verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
