The Advanced Manufacturing technician participates in a 3-year training program in preparation for a career in manufacturing and repair of industrial equipment.

Responsibilities / Tasks

  • Learn manual and machine-based material processing techniques.
  • Learn joining techniques, including thermal joining processes.
  • Participate in basic technical training and learn assembly of subassemblies as well as complete machines, including basic of related hydraulics, pneumatic and electric components.
  • Complete advanced technical training and learn troubleshooting, repair and testing of equipment.
  • Attend and successfully complete all required technical college courses.
  • Successfully complete the required midterm and end of apprenticeship skills tests.

Your Profile / Qualifications

To be eligible for this apprenticeship, you must:

  • Be a currently enrolled high school student.
  • Have an understanding off and be interested in technical and functional relationships
  • Have excellent hand-eye coordination and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Be physically capable of working in a demanding environment.

Lift weights of up to 50 pounds.
