The Job:
The Solutions Consultant is responsible for the implementation of specific development projects throughout the entire project life-cycle. They participate in the prioritization, analysis, time estimation, design, development, testing, and deployment of software solutions that fulfill our customer's needs. The Solutions Consultant is responsible for the overall quality and timeliness of the software delivered as well as the customer's satisfaction with this company as a solutions provider.
The Solutions Consultant collaborates with customers and members of management to define and document project requirements and scope. They use their technical knowledge of the company's software, systems, and processes to translate the project requirements into a technical design. This may involve assessments related to feasibility, time requirements, costs/benefits, and build/buy decisions in order to make a solution recommendation. The Solutions Consultant works closely with upper management to ensure the solution recommendations are consistent with company strategy, resource commitments, and goals.
The Solutions Consultant provides leadership to and coordination between the development, testing, and provisioning teams. Depending on the size and scope of the project, the Solutions Consultant provides implementation assistance to the various teams or may be directly responsible for some or all of the implementation tasks on the project. These tasks may include the development and execution of test plans and scripts, the creation and management of database objects, and the development of modules or components utilizing Microsoft's Visual Basic .NET and their development platform.
