**Acquisitions/Procurement Specialist (NOAA)**

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) provides timely access to global environmental data from satellites and other means to promote, protect and enhance the Nation's security, economy, and environment. NOAA is an agency that enriches life through science.

We are currently looking for a dynamic, knowledgeable, and results-oriented Contract Support Specialist with 5-7 years of acquisitions experience to join our team with NOAA.

The selected candidate will have a strong background in financial/budget and contracts/acquisitions support experience from a government agency supporting CORs. This is an ideal role for an independent self-starter with close-out contract support experience who will contribute to impact in a high visibility role. There will be opportunities to learn proprietary databases in supporting various projects for the COR. A Public Trust NOAA equivalent security clearance will be necessary for this full-time opportunity. Please note this is a 100% remote role currently with potential to return to an office environment in the future based in Silver Spring, MD (metro accessible).

**Responsibilities**

* Conduct market research for procurement activities

* Assist in budget and financials monitoring and tracking as needed in support of new invoice packaging

* Responsible for preparing all invoice receipt certifications for vendor payment and follow up with NOAA Finance to track payments

* Compile new acquisition documents relating to market research, project contractor lists, invoices, contractor closeouts and creating C-lists related to COVID clauses, project funding, COR changes and contract closeouts

* Maintain and update NOAA contract trackers

* Assist CORS as required

**Requirements**

* A Bachelors degree in business, acquisition, project management or engineering is a mandatory requirement

* 5-7 years of previous support of a government agency in an acquisitions/contract procurement role

* Demonstrated experience supporting CORS in a government agency is highly desired

* Ability to learn various proprietary databases as it relates to contract support work

* Contract close-out experience highly desired

* Excellent communications and interpersonal skills including the ability to work independently without strong supervision is desired
