The Opportunity

This position works out of our Pleasanton, CA location in the Heart Failure Division. In Abbott’s Heart Failure (HF) business, we’re developing solutions to diagnose, monitor and manage heart failure, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

Reporting to the GM of Acelis Connected Health (ACH), the Strategic Marketing and Business Development Leader is responsible to define the ACH Product & Partnership strategy by leveraging the current Acelis Capabilities in the US to top five international markets. This role develops strategies for continual growth and to meet the current and future needs of business in wound care management, platform & partnership strategy, Clinical & Technical solution services and international expansion to drive a rapid growth of the Business. 

This involves responsibility for the Product development plan, through study of the partner and competitive landscape, customer insight management and study of reimbursement, supply chains and organizational requirements of international markets to support the growth of connected products residing on our platforms, for all aspects of the care continuum. 

To achieve this, the role must work effectively with stakeholders across multiple functions across the Heart Failure business and have the ability to establish strong relationships across international and organization limits. This role will have excellent understanding of the business strategies, processes, services and products and is aware of the evolution of technologies, and takes into account industry standards and regulations relevant to the area.

What You’ll Work On

  • Work closely with ACH commercial team and Clinician advisors to design product management strategies across wound care management.
  • Work across cross organization partners to create a partnership strategy for Abbott HF. This will include JV, partnerships, acquisitions, or licensing agreements across the HF platform.
  • Work with services and commercial teams to develop new technical and clinical solution offerings to customers.
  • Collaborate with APAC and Europe organizations to create go to market models for top five international markets leveraging existing infrastructure.
  • Recruit, coach, and develop organizational talent. Fosters a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives. Handle end to end performance management of her/his team and provide coaching and guidance to peer team members
  • Provides direction to directors and managers, exempt specialists and non-exempt support in various areas, groups and/or operations.

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in Engineering or related field   
  • 15+ years experience in Medical Technology field
  • Extensive cross functional team management.
  • Experience managing and providing direction on digital solutions, acute care, software and clinical services
  • Proven track record of working cross culturally
  • Strong organizational skills, including program/project governance
  • Strong interdisciplinary, intercultural, influence, and networking skills
  • Strong influence and negotiating skills with all levels of stakeholders
  • Experience with selecting and managing suppliers in a large multinational organization
  • Experience managing through others; leading teams with at least one level of management layer (not all directs)
  • Clear and competent communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA preferred
  • 10+ years managing or directing Marketing teams in the Medical Device and connected / or remote care monitoring products space

The base pay for this position is $164,900.00 – $329,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
