Responsibilities
Extracorporeal circulation/cardiopulmonary support
Counter-pulsation
Circulatory support/ventricular assistance
Blood conservation techniques/auto transfusion
Myocardial preservation
Anticoagulation and hematologic monitoring/analysis
Physiological monitoring/analysis
Blood gas and blood chemistry monitoring/analysis
Induction of hypothermia/hyperthermia with reversal
Hemodilution
Hemofiltration
Administration of medications, blood components, and anesthetic agents via the extracorporeal circuit per direction of a physician
Documentation associated with described duties
Active involvement in QA/I and QC implementation and monitoring
Must remain certified in CPR
Must maintain an active national certification status and current Texas state licensure with all regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of perfusion technology
Three (3) years of experience as a cardiovascular perfusionist
Nationally certified and have/be eligible for Texas state licensure
