Position Summary: The All of Us Research Program is a research program from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and part of the Precision Medicine Initiative. This is a job description for an Engagement Lead position to join the UCI All of Us (AoU) Research Program team. The Engagement lead will use the All of Us Research Program guidelines and priorities for outreach and engagement to collaborate with community partners to develop engagement strategies that are tailored to specific communities, with the objective to increase awareness about the All of Us Research Program and promote participation in All of Us. This is particularly important for populations that have been historically under-represented in biomedical research (eg. racial/ethnic minorities, LGBTQ+, seniors etc.). The incumbent must be a team player and have strong communication skills, particularly in English and Spanish, to communicate effectively with target communities, including colleagues, community partners/members, professionals and participants in the research program. In addition, the Engagement Lead must be able to give presentations about the scientific focus of the AoU and precision health at a large scale, both in-person and virtually, table at engagement events, outreach, and speak to interested community members about the Program, and do public speaking at citywide,countywide, and national meetings, conferences and elsewhere. Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work well with diverse populations, groups, and team members. Demonstrate strong communication and social skills when participating in social/community events and representing the AoU team in national and statewide meetings. Must be proactive and experienced at pursuing partnerships and be able to identify and engage with community partners that best align with the program, while building lasting relationships that result in successful engagement and participation in the Research Program. The main goal of the AoU engagement effort is to increase enrollment of diverse participants in the All of Us Research Program at UCI. The incumbent will work closely with the UCI All of Us Research Program Principal Investigator (PI) and Leadership Team and in coordination with the AoU research program nationwide. . $73,900.00 - $133,700.00 (Annual Salary) Required: Bachelor's Degree (minimum) preferably MS/MPH or higher 5 years of community-based research-related experience Demonstrated experience in community engagement and implementation of protocols Experience in recruiting, and consenting human subjects for research projects Demonstrated ability to consult with PI, Co-PIs, Leadership Team Good understanding of research practices, protocols and policies Bilingual Spanish - read, write and speak Strong commitment to the principles and practice of equality, diversity, and cultural humility Demonstrated ability to train associated personnel in engagement and research activities and procedures Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct multiple people successfully by monitoring their progress and evaluating the quality of their work Ability to create plans and reports on community engagement and to analyze data on participation rates and modify plans and protocols if needed Able to perform data analysis and interpretation Demonstrated ability to use social media for engagement/professional purposes Ability to learn new technology skills Previous experience in University research setting and/or health promotion program preferred Conditions of Employment:
