What you’ll be doing Our Network Engineering team keeps us ahead of the competition. You will proactively provide support for overall network performance as a member of the RF Design Team. You will be responsible for the design and optimization of sites in a geographic area. You’ll have a positive impact on our organization, and change the way that our customers live, work, and play. Work with Capacity Planning and System Performance engineers to identify and kick off new search areas for cell sites, and walk candidate locations, approve site locations and create RF site designs. Identify and design capacity solutions including new sites, radio upgrades, and optimization projects. Issue designs and support them through the project lifecycle including: design, drawing reviews, electromagnetic emissions analysis, and regulatory submissions (FCC and EME). Proactively look for areas to improve overall network performance, and provide technical leadership through analysis, troubleshooting and training of market and regional engineers as needed. Coordinate with various groups including Capacity Planning, Performance Engineering, and Operations to design and successfully deploy network improvement solutions. Prioritize multiple projects and drive decisions and resolutions for unique network service problems. Optimize 5G, LTE and Radio Access Networks using traditional and innovative methods. Review all aspects of job functions and recommend new procedures, programs, and test tools to enable greater job productivity. Interface with project managers, real estate, construction, field operations, engineering, sales, marketing, finance and regulatory to ensure that our network quality and financial objectives are met. Continuously improve the performance of voice and data wireless networks. Take ownership of projects and identify new processes to improve efficiencies and optimize network performance. Prioritize high visibility projects to meet regional build plan goals and manage projects independently. Take ownership of issues and drive them to resolution. What we’re looking for You’ll need to have: Must be a current participant of the Department of Defense Skillbridge Program or of the Hiring our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program Cohort 2-2024. Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience. Four or more years of relevant work experience. Experience in the cellular or telecommunications industry. Knowledge of LTE including VoLTE and RAN Networks. Knowledge of 5G-NR standards. Valid driver's license. Even better if you have one or more of the following: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science; Master’s degree a plus. Knowledge of LTE System Design and Optimization. Knowledge of 3GPP LTE and 5G standards including VoLTE. Experience working in Atoll or other radio propagation modeling tool. Experience with electromagnetic energy analysis tools such as Roof Master. Knowledge of mapping software such as MapInfo, Google Earth, ArcGIS, and Topo. Strong statistical and analytical abilities. Self-motivation with the ability to work independently and efficiently.
