HVAC Technician
Pay: $57300-83100
Location: San Diego, CA
Shift: Mon-Fri. 8am – 5pm. And on call rotation.
HVAC Technician will perform HVAC and Mechanical preventive maintenance and repairs. This will also include general maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical lighting and other tasks as needed. This will include hands-on work to complete the necessary work within Jones Lang LaSalle standards and guidelines.
What is your day to day?
- Possess hands on skills and knowledge to complete required repairs and maintenance on commercial HVAC systems (including cooling towers, pumps, motors, air handlers)
- Perform preventive maintenance and repair service work on HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and various other building systems to maintain the properties in peak operational condition.
- Utilize CMMS systems for all work performed and management of work orders.
- General interior maintenance – hang pictures, install keyboard trays, repair office furniture systems, repair doors, moves office furniture / machinery / equipment, and other task as assigned.
- Complies with all policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous material.
- Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of all work areas.
- Ability to recognize, assess and mitigate or eliminate risk. Including completing Hazard Assessments as necessary.
- Maintain compliance to state and county codes and / or laws.
- Must be able to read and understand schematics.
- Attend work and safety meetings as required.
- Any and all other duties and tasks assigned.
Desired experience and technical skills
Required
- High School Diploma.
- 2 Years of HVAC experience.
- EPA Universal Certification.
- Must have Valid CA Diver’s License.
- Must be a US Citizen
- Ability to effectively use computers and computer programs (including use of Microsoft Office).
- Skilled in use of the internet to navigate to and use web-based applications.
- Customer service experience.
- Possess excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to create, modify and edit processes, procedures and reports.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Safe Work practices especially regarding energized work, PPE, working at heights, and confined spaces.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Frequent climbing ladders, bending, lifting, kneeling, stooping, and working / extending overhead.
- Ability to work exposed to heat, sunlight, rain, cold, daylight and nighttime hours as required.
- Position requires participation in an on-call rotation that could include holidays/weekends depending on the rotation.
Preferred
- 2 years’ experience as an HVAC Technician
- Proficient computer skills and experience working with CMMS and Building Automation Systems is desirable.
