JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the billing of specialty areas of SQL Responsible to coordinate and facilitate all client billing activities, including but not limited to client inquiries, refunds, account adjustments and settlements. This position will also participate in the review of all client accounts that are delinquent in reimbursement.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Responsible for obtaining missing information, verification of eligibility and assist in obtaining diagnosis codes from clients and patients in accordance with departmental policies, procedures and all applicable laws and regulations.

2. Forms a working relationship with the key contact at each client location.

3. Responsible for the data entry of LTC Same Day requisitions into the billing system in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with policies, procedures and performance goals.

4. Responsible for maintaining a patient census on Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) clients for billing accuracy of patients covered under Medicare Prospective Payment (PPS).

5. Communicates with client accounts regarding billing issues. Review of client credit balances and adjustments on accounts. Process and respond to all client related correspondence and phone inquires.

6. Responsible for developing and maintaining a SYS patient master for LTC clients. Ensures that internal audits are in place and quality controls are in place in accordance with departmental policies, procedures, generally accepted accounting principles and all applicable laws and regulations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates Degree or equivalent work experience in an Accounts Receivable department and a minimum of two years experience in a customer service capacity in a medical or long-term care environment.
  • Must be able to recognize problems, identify the cause and determine solutions.
  • Understanding of Medicare regulations is strongly preferred.
  • Requires excellent written, oral and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Computer spreadsheet and word processing skills preferred.
  • Must demonstrate behaviors consistent with the values of LSA/SQL.
