A large health system is seeking a trauma surgeon for locum tenens coverage. In Florence, South Carolina, visitors can delve into the city's rich cultural heritage by exploring the Florence County Museum, showcasing diverse art collections and historical exhibits. There will be day and night shifts available. There will be 1 half day of clinic per week for post-op follow-ups with 20-25 patients. The clinician will participate in 1:9 24-hour call rotation weekend rotation is either Thursday, Saturday, or Friday, Sunday. There will be day and night inpatient APP support available (3 on each daytime team and 1 nighttime for each team). The clinician will round on 10-20 inpatients a day in addition to trauma consults and 911/811 response. The procedures include predominantly blunt trauma, penetrating trauma, emergent procedures with general surgery, and some ICU bedside procedures (tracheotomy, PEG tube, chest tube, etc.) Adult and pediatric trauma comfort is required. The pediatric age range is generally 8-15, mostly 13-15 within that range. MRMC is a level 2 trauma center, but they operate as a level 1, the candidate must be comfortable with this. MRMC is also a 500 bed facility that offers all service lines and subspecialties.
