SUMMARY

Partner Engineering and Science, Inc. is seeking a full-time technical proposal manager to join our team. Location is open with a preference in a large metro area. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7+ years of experience within the asset / facilities management industry with a focus on building science.

Responsibilities

  • Support Relationship Managers in identifying, developing, and maintaining a consistent pipeline of prospective customers. This requires self-direction, discipline, and consistent effort to make cold calls and/or in-person meetings and attendance at industry conferences and events.
  • Explore clients' needs and offer technical expertise and advice regarding building services (e.g. facility condition assessments, property condition assessments, building envelope, MEP solutions, accessibility / ADA, structural, seismic, forensics, building envelope, building technology, asset management and facilities maintenance and management).
  • Maintain superior relationships with existing clients and provide an exceptional level of customer service.
  • Seek RFP, RFI, RFQ, bid, pre-authorization and pre-approval opportunities. Contribute strategic, technical approach, and costing content in the response packages through collaboration with the engineering and proposal team members. Oversee proposal communication, participate in client presentations, and support negotiation with clients.
  • Provide cost / price estimates to clients throughout the sales / bid cycles.
  • Participate in Go / No Go analysis for opportunities and assist in decision making.
  • Review previous proposals for winning or losing firms to gather insights on competitive landscape and strategy.
  • Build company credibility, brand value, and trust with prospective customers. Gain knowledge, insight and understanding from key decision-makers regarding client's needs/challenges. Identify strategies and product types that address client's needs.
  • Develop a strong presence within the Building Science consulting community.
  • Support Relationship Managers efforts at tradeshows and conferences, attend industry-specific networking events, and contribute to blog postings and other company marketing efforts.
  • Be collaborative with Marketing and utilize the resources and tools to help expand client accounts.
Knowledge & Abilities
  • Existing relationships with real estate owners, occupiers, investors and associated service providers with strategic partnership value.
  • Excellent communication skills - written, spoken, and listening - with ability to explain and interpret complex issues clearly.
  • High energy, drive, and ambition.
  • Strong record of superior client service.
  • Sales and relationship-based selling experience in the consulting industry.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a sales team and interact effectively with the internal environmental staff.
  • Well versed and conversational on all Partner service offerings.
  • Ability to independently communicate and address concerns on client project-related concerns for Partner's core services.
  • Excellent communication skills - written, spoken, and listening - with the ability to explain and interpret complex issues clearly.
  • Proven track record of quota attainment and ability to win client opportunities.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 7+ years of sales, program and project management, and or client management experience in building / facility / real estate asset management.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to read, write, speak & comprehend English.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone.
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading from printed sources and computer screen.
