Sales Engineering Manager

Purpose of the job

The sales engineer Managers position is responsible for his team to perform product feasibility review, product costing and tool launch of new business with an objective to attract new business from an engineering stand point while maintaining profit margins then relay the objected tool kick offs to manufacturing.

Key accountabilities

Develop the working relation with sales rep, BDM's and account managers to establish sales Manage the sales engineers and sales engineering coordinators to insure new product feasibilities and customer quotes are completed correctly and in timely manor Establish tool size/cavitation run location and cost structure of new products to ensure corporate profit levels are maintainable Manage/upload new prototype/production tool kick offs, tool transfers and material change request in the PIN and mold tracker system Participates in development of new products, tool launch and modification of existing products Work with tool shops on tool layout concepts and tool quotes for new tools, reworks and tool modifications Maintain all RFQ and quote documents and corresponding email threads Participates in sales forecasting and planning Develops and maintains communications in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of staff and customers using established guidelines and processes Reporting relationships

Reports to: Vice President of Business Development Direct Reports: 2) - Technical specialist, and Global Pricing Analyst and China Cost Estimating coordinator. Indirect Reports: China Cost Estimating coordinator. Other relevant information: This position requires up to 1% to 10% travel. Knowledge, skills and experience

Minimum qualification required:

Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field/ business management and 10 years of rubber experience or equivalent Knowledge/experience required beyond minimum qualification:

Advanced training in sales skills. HCR rubber transfer tools, LSR molding and rubber tool design experience required Other key factors:

Solidworks/Autocad Excel Powerpoint and up to date computer skills Challenges of the job

Diverse global cultures and language barriers Must be able to communicate with multiple global locations. (China, Europe, Mexico) Decisions made

Expectations of the product versus cost Allowing proper cost reductions based on expectations of the product to be sold. Dimensions

Review, initiate feasibility and prepare quotes to incoming RFQ inquiries for outside customer to establish maintainable profit margins. Review incoming tool kick offs with original quote and launch tools to the appropriate manufacturing facility. Tool kick offs to include part prints, tool quote, feasibility and tool launch checklist. Maintain a quote log and keep all ISO quote checklist up to date. Tool kick offs include prototype tools. Production tools, tool transfer and tool move kick offs as well as material change request. All of the listed criteria to be uploaded in the new mold tracker for manufacturing.
