CERTIFIED OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT (COTA) - BEHAVIORAL HEALTH/PSYCH - PART TIME - Military veterans preferred

JOB SUMMARYEnsures that all services are delivered in accordance with the mission statement and SPIRIT values of Carroll Hospital Center, Under the supervision and in collaboration with licensed occupational therapist, completes designated structured/standardized evaluation/re-eval tasks, conducts general activity programs, assists in planning and implementing treatment programs for individuals limited by psychosocial dysfunction. Utilizes knowledge appropriate to the patient(s) age to ensure that care provided meets the unique, physical and psychosocial needs of patient. Must possess strong interpersonal, task analysis and clinical reasoning skills. Creativity, & innovation; professional development and autonomy encouraged.REQUIREMENTSRequired - Associate's Degree Occupational TherapyPsychosocial practice background preferred, but would consider related experience. 18 months of previous experience preferred. COTAL - Cert Occupational Therapist Assistant (Maryland)L - Occupational Therapist Assistant (Maryland)CPR - AHA Healthcare ProviderInitial COTA certification by AOTCB or NBCOTSPECIFIC REQUIREMENTSCommunication skills, both oral and written, necessary in order to deal effectively with a variety of Hospital personnel, to comfort and assist patients and their families and maintain appropriate documentation in the computer.
