HOW A SYSTEMS ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Provide Operations & Maintenance (O&M) on a standalone network used for cyber forensics.
  • Provides and applies advanced engineering to highly complex infrastructures including installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools in a hybrid Windows and Linux environment.
  • Performs maintenance and provides advanced solutions for continual and highly complex security, backup and redundancy problems.
  • Prepares and maintains documentation for processes and procedures
  • Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology, on the lookout for new technologies, and works with management to evolve current processes.
  • May coach and review the work of less-experienced professionals.
  • May serve as a team or task leader. (Not a people manager)
  • Invents innovative ways to drive production operational efficiency.
  • Drives scalability and operability of supported systems/infrastructure.
  • Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or other IT-related discipline
  • Required Experience: 10+ years
  • Technical skills:
  • Active Directory
  • Ubuntu/RHEL Linux
  • Cisco Routers/Switches (LAN network design or other experience desirable)
  • Domain Name System (DNS)
  • Intelligence Community (IC) PKI x.509 certificates
  • LAN Networking
  • Network Attached Storage (NAS)
  • VMWare installation and configuration (vSphere / ESXi)
  • Virtual LANs (VLANs)
  • Windows Server (2016 or later)
  • PowerShell scripting
  • Software upgrades to GOTS and COTS software (including MS SQL Server)
  • Location: Herndon, VA (customer site)
  • US Citizenship Required
