HOW A SYSTEMS ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Provide Operations & Maintenance (O&M) on a standalone network used for cyber forensics.
- Provides and applies advanced engineering to highly complex infrastructures including installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools in a hybrid Windows and Linux environment.
- Performs maintenance and provides advanced solutions for continual and highly complex security, backup and redundancy problems.
- Prepares and maintains documentation for processes and procedures
- Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology, on the lookout for new technologies, and works with management to evolve current processes.
- May coach and review the work of less-experienced professionals.
- May serve as a team or task leader. (Not a people manager)
- Invents innovative ways to drive production operational efficiency.
- Drives scalability and operability of supported systems/infrastructure.
- Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:- Education: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or other IT-related discipline
- Required Experience: 10+ years
- Technical skills:
- Active Directory
- Ubuntu/RHEL Linux
- Cisco Routers/Switches (LAN network design or other experience desirable)
- Domain Name System (DNS)
- Intelligence Community (IC) PKI x.509 certificates
- LAN Networking
- Network Attached Storage (NAS)
- VMWare installation and configuration (vSphere / ESXi)
- Virtual LANs (VLANs)
- Windows Server (2016 or later)
- PowerShell scripting
- Software upgrades to GOTS and COTS software (including MS SQL Server)
- Location: Herndon, VA (customer site)
