**Qualifications**

* High School Diploma/GED

* Two (2) Years Experience in Food Service Preparation in an institutional setting

* Valid Drivers License required

**Responsibilities/Duties**

Assist in preparing nutritious and attractive meals according to a pre-arranged menu which meets the nutritional needs of each child as specified by the Child and Adult Care Food Program and Head Start guidelines. Responsible for delivery of prepared meals to local Head Start sites from a centralized kitchen and operating, sanitizing and maintaining central kitchen equipment.

****A $500 monetary incentive will be paid to newly employed Luzerne County Head Start staff members who start work after July 1, 2021: $250 payout will be paid upon successful completion of the first 90 days; $250 payout after 1 year of service****

Proof of Degree/Certification and Experience Required to meet the Qualifications for position

Background Clearances

(1) FBI Fingerprints; PA DHS Registration; Service Code 1KG756

(2) Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check

(3) Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance

Successful completion of Pre-Employment Physical Examination which includes a Tuberculosis screening (coordinated upon conditional offer of employment)

Position will require record check approval of driving record by LCHS Insurance Provider, as this position is considered a designated position requiring driving as an essential job function

**Location, Hours & Salary**

BEEKMAN STREET CENTER, 23 Beekman Street, Wilkes-Barre

* Full Time/10-months; works a school schedule Aug-June, 37.5 hrs/wk

* Rate of Pay: $11.00/hr, Eligible for overtime pay
