As a smaller company, we cater to our resident's needs, and take pride in providing an employee friendly work environment.We are currently looking for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to assist in the provision of specialized Physical Therapy services to residents and the documentation under the supervision and direction of the Occupational Therapist and within the scope of his/her training. This is an outstanding opportunity for an individual that is looking for personal growth and development in a state of the art health care setting. _ This is a PRN Position._COTA Responsibilities:Assist in the provision of specialized occupational therapy services to residentsAssist in the direction of the Rehab Aide and affiliating studentsEducate residents and family members/caregivers regarding evaluation findings and treatment recommendationsDevelop, implement and modify as needed, appropriate long and short term treatment/intervention programs in conjunction with OTR.Develop and instruct residents/family/caregiver/nursing staff in appropriate follow up programs.Participate in care conferences/discharge planningAssist with obtaining and training residents with assertive devicesAct as a liaison between resident/family and interdisciplinary staffWork and communicate effectively with other staff, including physicians, nurses, CNAs, PCAs, rehab staff and social workersServe as a resource and mentor to other staffQualifications:Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license or certificate to practice as a OT in this stateMust posses the ability to make independent decisions, when circumstances warrant such action.Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.Must be knowledgeable of medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.Must possess the willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care.Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle challenging situations.Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing rehab practices.Must be able to relate information concerning a resident's condition.
