The occupational therapist assistant (OTA) works under the supervision of the occupational therapist to implement the intervention plan as established by the occupational therapist. Position Details: This position is housed at the Saint Joseph PACEWhat you will do: •Maintain appropriate communication with supervising occupational therapist to discuss participant care issues regarding precautions, potential problems and changes in participant status. •Assist the occupational therapist with evaluation, directing, planning, and providing occupational therapy services for the participants'. Administer treatment according to the established treatment plan and procedures. •Demonstrate responsibility and accountability regarding daily operational issues for the Rehabilitation Department. •Responsible for completing routine hydrotherapy preparation and clean-up; assisting participants with established exercise programs, follow-up functional activities, and superficial heat/cold. •Perform ongoing inventory of equipment and material to ensure adequate supply and notify department manager of ordering needs.Minimum Qualifications: •Must possess comprehensive knowledge normally obtained through an American Occupational Therapy Association approved curriculum with an Associate's degree or a related field. Current, unencumbered, active occupational therapy assistant license in the state of PACE Organization. Current CPR certification. •Minimum one (1) year experience working with a frail or elderly population. Appropriate clinical placement experience may be substituted. If less than one (1) year of experience, must receive appropriate training from the PACE organization on working with a frail or elderly population upon hiring. •Current CPR certification or ability to obtain the certification within six months after date of hire. •Demonstrates superior written and verbal communication and presentation skills appropriate for audience comprehension. Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral, that may be used either in an on-site or virtual environment is required.
