**Food Service Worker II - Peckham Inc.**

****Important Information:****

* **Starting Wage: $10.00/hour**

* **Shifts: 8:00am - 1:30pm**

* **Location: 3510 Capital City Blvd Lansing, MI 48906**

**Summary/Objective**

The Food Service Worker Level II, assists Peckham Marketplace staff with the operation of preparing food, serving food, customer service, dishwashing, cleaning, and stocking food/supplies.

**Essential Functions**

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

* Serve and assist with prepping for as needed, includes catering.

* If serving at a station, this person will be responsible for set up and breakdown of the station. This includes the packaging of leftovers.

* Prepare and bake a variety of foods, including baked goods, sandwiches, snacks, lunches, and to-go plates

* Oversees and instructs other team members when needed.

* Assist kitchen staff with food and beverage services.

* Stock cupboards, refrigerators and salad bars

* Prep food for catering when needed and set room.

* Clear tables and clean dishes, utensils, and silverware

* Clean kitchen areas by assisting with sweeping, mopping, wiping down tables/counters and assisting with other cleaning duties as assigned

* Clean food preparation and storage areas

* Keep the working environment safe and healthy, strictly following all standards, complying with the Michigan Food /Sanitary Regulations

* Assist kitchen staff with preparing for morning shift and planning the evening meal

* Maintain customer satisfaction

* Inform Food Service Assistant when food and supplies are getting low

* Assist kitchen staff with receiving and storing supplies

* Inform Supervisor when equipment is broken or not working properly

* Inform Supervisor of any potential situations that may need to be addressed.

* Other related duties as assigned

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use fingers, hands, arms, and legs to handle, or feel. The employee is required to sit and reach with hands and arms; and effectively communicate to others. The employee must be able to stand for long periods of time serving meals and prepping food.. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision.

**Education and Experience**

Food service and strong customer service skills are preferred. The ability to multitask and work well with others.

**Language Skills**

This job requires the ability to effectively communicate to kitchen staff and customers.

**Mathematical Skills**

Knowledge of basic arithmetic with the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

**Reasoning Ability**

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
