Primarily Acute Care setting, but occasional Outpatient Clinic setting.

Responsibilities:

Treats physical therapy patients under supervision of licensed physical therapists in outpatient, acute, home health care and skilled nursing facility as assigned.

Assists in development of treatment plans for all patients assigned to case load

Maintains appropriate documentation in the patients medical record

Ongoing commitment to reducing costs and improving productivity in the physical therapy department

Maintains positive relationships with the health care team, patient and family

Communicates effectively in writing and verbally with all appropriate members of the patients healthcare team

Qualifications:

Education:

Associate Degree in Physical Therapy

Experience:

Entry level/new graduate acceptable

License(s)/Certification(s):

Physical therapy licensure in Iowa or eligible for licensure in Iowa Valid Iowa Drivers License Maintains Basic Life certification Refer to Stroke Service Policy for annual stroke education requirements.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Effective written and verbal communication skills Basic knowledge of computer concepts Ability to meet time frames for work completion Effective skills for teamwork/team facilitation

Gloves, gait belt, gowns, mask when necessary.
