Please refer to the respective collective bargaining agreement for additional information on such wage premiums: Job Summary:Under direct supervision, administers a variety of physical therapy treatments through the use of various exercise techniques and therapeutic procedures. Makes members/patients and their needs a primary focus of ones actions; develops and sustains productive member/patient relationships. Actively seeks information to understand member/patient circumstances, problems, expectations, and needs. Builds rapport and cooperative relationship with members/patients. Considers how actions or plans will affect members; responds quickly to meet member/patient needs and resolves problems.Essential Responsibilities:This position, knows and complies with all Kaiser Permanente quality, safety, and emergency policies and procedures. Demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice in every interaction with patients, colleagues, providers, and leadership. Ensures patient safety in the preparation and provisioning of care related to but not limited to medications, procedures, infection prevention, fall prevention, including consistent use of two patient identifiers and procedural time outs. Reports safety hazards, accidents and incidents, and unsafe working conditions promptly.Provides physical therapy treatment, as directed by a Registered Physical Therapist, to restore body function and strength, relieve pain and prevent disability. Administers various therapeutic techniques and procedures such as exercise programs, facilitation techniques, muscle reeducation, gait training, hydrotherapy and electrotherapy.Observes patients response to treatment; performs selective measurement procedures such as range of motion, gross strength of muscle groups, length and girth of body parts, and vital structs patients in exercise programs, positioning, body mechanics, and the use and care of assertive and supportive devices and therapeutic appliance.Consults with Registered Physical Therapist to resolve problems, implement changes tot he treatment plan, and to request reevaluations.Maintains appropriate medical records for each patient including observations, treatment, and progress.Ensures cleanliness of assigned areas and proper functioning of patient care equipment by visual inspection, routine testing by prescribed procedures, to provide a therapeutic and safe environment for patients and staff; reports and problems to a Registered Physical Therapist.Performs routine reception and clerical duties as required, such as scheduling patient appointments, completing patient visit records, and checking patients in. Answers telephone calls, ascertains nature of the call by asking pertinent questions answers routine inquiries and makes the necessary referral to the appropriate addition to defined technical requirements, accountable for consistently demonstrating service behaviors and principles defined by the Kaiser Permanente Service Quality Credo, the KP Mission as well as specific departmental/organizational initiatives. Also accountable for consistently demonstrating the knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors necessary to provide superior and culturally sensitive service to each other, to our members, and to purchasers, contracted providers and vendors.
