Leidos is seeking an Engineering Lead with broad expertise in servers, networks, and storage to join our Defense Enclave Services (DES) team at Ft. Meade, MD.

PROGRAM SUMMARY:
The DES program supports a highly demanding mission and requires support from top technical and management talent to migrate common IT services for over twenty DoD agencies under a common platform. You will play a key role in performing the discovery, design, and migration tasks in support of building a world-class Single Service Provider for the Department of Defense. This role will lead a cross-functional technical team to support the discovery analysis and design activities required to migrate common IT services from over twenty large-scale DoD agencies into DoDNet. Leidos needs the best talent in the industry to accommodate the size, scope, and complexity of this effort. A successful candidate will be technically well-rounded, producing quality work with special attention to the right details.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: 
Must possess an active Secret security clearance (US Citizenship required)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a senior engineer/technical SME, leading a group of specialists in infrastructure discovery and the development of architecture, design, and migration plans
  • Provide hands-on engineering and technical leadership for overall migration planning and implementation tasks
  • Design Architecture and Technical Documentation: Spearhead the creation and development of intricate system designs for IT infrastructure, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and industry best practices
  • Oversee and coordinate migration planning activities while monitoring and managing risks
  • Perform analysis and decomposition of system and subsystem requirements, and lead development of architecture and design documents
  • Manage and oversee development of infrastructure discovery efforts and migration plans
  • Provide regular migration updates to Government leadership; identify risks, dependencies, and propose mitigation activities to deliver migrations on schedule and within budget.
  • Staff migration teams with individuals certified in a standardized migration approach that maintains a mission-first focus that minimizes risks
  • Work across team members to document migration lessons learned for continual improvement of future migration activities
  • Identify automation opportunities for staff reductions and improved service delivery

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of relevant work experience; additional years of directly applicable experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience planning and executing large/complex IT migrations and consolidations.
  • Highly motivated individual with leadership skills and exemplary communication skills
  • Experience with discovery, event management and ITSM tools.
  • In-depth understanding of cloud and network topologies, both transport and IP.
  • Customer focused, formulates plans based on the development of innovative new designs in resolving advanced technical engineering problems
  • Ability to author, present, and articulate problem sets and associated solution elements in settings supporting customers, business development, program delivery, technical teams, and executives
  • Experience presenting technology solutions to small and large audiences.
  • Highly organized with strong troubleshooting, problem solving, and verbal/written communication skills
  • Strong Leadership experience including leading diverse teams
  • Require active DoD IAT Level II (i.e., Security+) certification or equivalent prior to start

PREFERRED QUALIFICAITONS:

  • Consulting firm experience.
  • Familiarization of DISA, DOD regulations, and directives.
  • Large-Scale End User Device management and Network Capacity Management experience
  • Experience with design, implementation, and optimization of Microsoft technologies and network infrastructure solutions, with a focus on Microsoft AD FS, Intune, Desktop as a Service (DaaS), remote VPN, DHCP, and DNS technologies.
  • Experience mentoring and coaching staff to maintain high levels of performance and positive morale

Pay Range:

Pay Range $122,200.00 - $220,900.00
