ORE - Shift 3 ($.85) (United States of America - Oregon)

A BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Operations Technician, Cutoff Operator performs tasks to remove excess shell from mold and parts from gating trees to prepare parts for next process in accordance with established policies, practices and procedures.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • The Operations Technician III, Forging performs operations required to operate and maintain forges and furnaces for producing parts and products. They are also cross-trained on and can perform numerous operations within forging without supervision. They lead on the job training of lower level Operations Technicians

  • The Operations Technician III reports to the Supervisor, Operations

  • Use hand truck, pallet jack, carts and tables to safely transport product.

  • Maintain work area, tools and equipment in a clean and organized condition.

  • Detect report faulty equipment, defective material and any unusual conditions to the department Supervisor or Lead.

  • Follow designated safety rules and regulations.

  • Support Lean Manufacturing and EHS initiatives.

  • Dimensionally inspect work, using appropriate tools including, but not limited to; calipers, pin gauges, measuring instruments and surface plates, etc. as required.

  • Perform weekly housekeeping per 5S schedule.

  • Detect report faulty equipment, defective material and any unusual conditions to the department Supervisor or Lead.

  • Follow work orders to perform operations on various parts and products

  • Perform different types of operations based on manufacturing needs

  • Lead the training of personnel as directed by the department Supervisor or Lead.

  • Reinforces safety expectations.  Ensures safety operating practices are demonstrated.  Reports issues/concerns to Supervisor.

  • Support quality and compliance by adhering to all procedures, work instructions, and forms per the Quality Management Systems (QMS).

  • Provides and documents training on standard of work instructions, policies, and procedures in a timely manner to ensure team members have the required knowledge and skills prior to performing work independently.

  • Perform cleaning operations of castings per tech card.

  • Inspect and maintain blast cabinets, media, nozzles and hoses in order to ensure proper cleaning.

  • Replace saw blades as necessary.

  • Identify all cut revert alloy and place in proper bin.

  • Maintain lot integrity.

  • Maintain minor maintenance on equipment as required.

  • Complete proper documentation as required including process routing card, salvage router and scrap tags.

  • Route scrap castings to designated area.

  • Perform or assist in performing training of personnel as directed by the department supervisor or lead.


EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Or Equivalent (Required)


EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Manufacturing Experience (Preferred)

  • Experience as a Trainer (Preferred)

  • Operations Experience (Preferred)

  • 3+ Years of Experience (Required)
