What you will do

As a critical part of the team, the Commercial Security Systems Installer works onsite with our commercial customers to set up and program their customized Security solutions (security alarms, fire alarms, access control, video surveillance, intercoms, etc.) and also dismantles and reconstructs equipment when necessary.

How you will do it

  • Installs appropriate devices and dismantles and reconstructs equipment as required by customer or Johnson Controls Security Solutions.

  • Works safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials and cleans up installation debris.

  • Contacts customers prior to the date of scheduled installation to verify schedule.

  • Prepares estimates in accordance with prescribed instructions or directions from Supervisor.

  • Follows proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.

  • Test’s operation of system to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service.

  • Reads building, electrical and sprinkler blueprints as required.

  • Coordinates installations with police/fire departments and handles necessary records for notification of emergency calls.

  • May manage installation teams on larger projects.

  • Coach and mentor less experienced installers.

  • Travel required, using provided company vehicle and equipment.

What we look for

Required:

  • State of Washington EL01 Electrical license or the State of Washington EL06 Master Limited Energy System license.

  • NICET II certification or currently enrolled in the NICET program and will obtain the NICET II certification within one year. (CURRENT NICET II HOLDERS EARN AN ADDITIONAL 5% ON THE HOURLY ALLOTMENT).

  • A minimum of five (5) years of security video surveillance, access control and/or fire alarm experience.

  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs schematics and operational/product manuals.

  • Experience with hand tools, multi-meter usage and handheld power tools.

  • Ability to pass an MVR, Background Check and Drug Test.

  • Demonstrated aptitude for troubleshooting systems and performing necessary repairs.

  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.

  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult position such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.

  • Ability to work flexible hours including on-call rotation, nights, and occasional weekends to meet customer requirements.

  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service.

  • Ability to adhere to, implement and always follow safety guidelines and procedures.

  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude and ability to learn quickly.

Preferred:

  • Ccure, Lenel, Kantech, Amag, Hirsch, Genetec, ExacqVision and/or Bosch VMS certifications.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $28-$35 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)  This position includes a competitive benefits package.
