What you will do:

The Legal Contracts Manager will work in close collaboration with the procurement legal team (U.S. based lawyers and other Monterrey based contract managers ) to support the delivery of legal services to internal clients across the globe. This role involves managing contract formation and development and is not a supervisory role.

The Legal Contracts Manager will provide  insight and assistance with the intake, triage, and analysis of all contracting activities. Additionally, this person will assist and support the review, drafting and negotiation of agreements, including  services agreements, product purchase agreements and purchase orders, subcontract agreements, NDAs , and SaaS agreements.

The successful candidate will help to further enhance JCI’s optimized procurement contracting function by utilizing and enhancing the use of JCI’s contract lifecycle management tools.

The Legal Contracts Manager must possess a “can do” attitude, be self-motivated, able to multi-task and prioritize work related assignments, The successful candidate must  be willing to develop a deep understanding of procurement and the businesses they support.

This individual must be solution-oriented, demonstrate innovative thinking, work independently and proactively, and function as a trusted advisor to the attorneys and business team members they support.

How you will do it:

- Intake and triage of contract requests against prescribed risk prioritization and other protocols

- Tracking and monitoring of requests within procurement legal and supporting day-to-day          operations including managing the workflow tools (currently Ariba)

- Assist and support the review, drafting and negotiation of select procurement-related agreements     in accordance with the company's policies and playbooks

- Direct support to JCI stakeholders for workflow management

- Program specific document management including updating playbooks/procedural manuals

- Contract Approvals routing and management

- Escalation management and routing

- Create, prepare, and maintain team status and reports

- Analyze and document processes and workflow

- Apply technical and analytical skills to solve issues

- Compile findings and recommendations

- Assist with the preparation of executive-level presentations and materials

- Perform research and analysis for decision-making and present synopsis

What we are looking for:

- Law degree and 3+ years of procurement contracting experience which includes meaningful periods of time supporting multinational organizations in the review and negotiation of English language contracts, whether as part of a law firm or corporate law department

- 3+ years of experience in the areas of Contract Lifecycle Management or Legal Operations

- Establish and drive continuous improvement objectives

- Must be fluent in English, verbal and written

- Professional demeanor and strong written and oral communication and presentation skills

- Ability to communicate effectively with senior-level stakeholders

- Ability to work under tight deadlines and balance and prioritize multiple responsibilities

- Critical thinking skills and ability to analyze data to make informed decisions and recommendations. Proficiency in searching for meaningful patterns, trends, and relationships in data and articulating findings for simplified business understanding.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products, with specific experience in Word, Power Point, Excel and database creation and maintenance

- Preferred proficiency in Ariba, and at a minimum experience in one or more Contract Lifecycle Management or Extraction technologies such as Agiloft, Icertis, Conga, or Onit
