Participates as a critical member of division management team working closely with all disciplines to meet production and profitability goals. Performs a variety of accounting duties, both routine and project based. Performs analyses and forecasts involving inventory, Bill of Material of job-based profitability on individual standard product and services and custom fabrication lines.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze all job and standard costing functions for the division
  • Audits all automated functions essential to financial reporting through the MRP system to assure that all are complete, accurate and in order.
  • Responsible for analyzing the accuracy of all inventory physical counts, classifications and calculations and WIP and accruals
  • Reviews monthly gross margin reports to identify all anomalous results; investigate causes as it relates to inventory and bill of material variances and advise managers on solutions
  • manages BOM costs including material costs and labor costs in an MRP environment, including material variances, labor variances
  • Write queries to extract and analyze costing, margin, and inventory valuation data.
  • Overall responsibility for accuracy of monthly costing, margins and inventory valuation.
  • Oversees compliance with internal control aspects of inventory control including purchase orders, receiving, vouchering, inventory taking, inventory valuation LIFO/FIFO rules, etc.
  • Works with and follow the directives of corporate financial management to assure the division's input is timely, accurate and complete in the corporate consolidation.
  • Performs other similar or related duties as required or requested

Position Requirements:

The Plant Controller must possess the minimum knowledge:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years hands on MRP experience in a modern MRP environment with standard and semi-custom products involving extensive metal fabrication and assembly
  • Ability to use other computer software, including Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with ERP software, particularly manufacturing modules: Costing, Bills of material, Inventory Control, etc.
  • Hands on experience with Globalshop a plus
  • APICS certification a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to supervise complex processes
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Travel required to Corporate locations, estimated at 50%
