Description

The National Security Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for an AOC Configuration Manager to work at the customer site on March Air Reserve Base, CA.  This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the PACAF C5ISRO II mission.  In this mission, we provide configuration management support to the AOC for C4I hardware, software, and communications requirements processing, and architectural drawings. Assists the AOC Configuration Review Board (CRB) in the preparation of agenda, slides, and attendees’ package, and as the secretariat keeps a record of discussions and produces meeting minutes. Requires knowledge and understanding of configuration management practices and procedures, and excellent planning, research, analytical, communication, technical, and problem-solving skills. The position requires excellent communications skills both written and verbal. Must have experience using personal computers and Commercial off-the-shelf software, knowledge of the computers/networks/communications environment, and configuration management of same. The configuration manager operates and oversees the AOC enterprise change management program. Ensures AOC Weapon System and Air Combat Command (Lead Command for AOC WS) change management processes and policies are followed. Develops local change management processes and procedures based on AF, AOC WS, and ACC and private industry best practices. Makes recommendations to PACAF/A3/6C as well as the AOC WS CCB/CRB chairperson regarding unauthorized changes to systems/networks as well as recommended remediation. Develops and prepares general technical correspondence, special project papers, official AF records, and briefings on all assigned issues as required. Regularly reviews change management governance documentation and recommends updates as required. Prepares and presents briefings advocating local AOC initiatives and proposed Enterprise Change Request (ECR) to PACAF/A3/6C, AOC WS Program Office, and ACC. May participate in AOC WS Configuration Management Working Group (CMWG) activities and Configuration Management staff assistance visits.

Primary Responsibilities

Support the AOC Configuration Management program. Assists in researching and preparing materials/documentation in support of new system requirements submitted to the AOC Change Review Board (CRB) following the AOC Configuration Management Plan (CMP). The Contractor shall perform the work for this requirement on-site at March ARB, California: at minimum two (2) Configuration Managers for the 701 COS.

  • Is the Focal point and principal advisor for day-to-day configuration management questions and schedules, prepares briefing materials, prepares meeting minutes, and facilitates the AOC Configuration Review Board (CRB).
  • Develop and publish the site’s configuration management plan.
  • Contractor shall maintain current as-built configuration, software versions, hardware rack elevations, and hardware list.
  • Establish a master media and documentation library and maintain strict control of master media and documentation. Will receive, inventory, track, and store software media and documentation in addition to issuing software media/documentation as required. Develop and conduct initial and annual configuration management training within the organization.
  • Notify Government and contract personnel on the receipt of enterprise change notices and enterprise change requests and track each to completion in the AOC Weapon System approved CM status accounting tool.
  • Assist users in preparing and submitting baseline change requests, software problem reports, and enterprise change requests as required.
  • Contractor shall support activities related to command, control, communications, and computer systems planning plans support, information assurance support, engineering support, strategic planning, and requirements analysis; implementation, including architectures, integration, direction, and standards.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field and at least 3-5 years of experience working in a configuration management role within a major weapon system program, IT organization, or providing configuration management for two or more C2/Intel systems. May substitute 3 years of relevant configuration management experience for required educational qualifications.
  • The AOC WS Configuration Management Program’s foundation and procedures are based on ANSI/EIA 649-B. Certification in the principles and application of ANSI/EIA 649-B, “Configuration Management Standard” is required.
  • Requires excellent planning, research, analytical, communication, technical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding EIA-836, “Configuration Management Data Exchange and Interoperability” is beneficial.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $48,100.00 - $86,950.00
