**About the Opportunity**

This is an open position with the FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [SC00]

The Food Service Associate supports FirstEnergy's internal catering group and operations at the West Akron Campus cafe, This position supports current Food Service projects including recipe database creation, supporting the design and implementation of our Around the World initiative, and supporting all Board of Directors luncheons.

The position is located at the West Akron Campus; reporting hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00AM - 2:30PM.

**Responsibilities include:**

* Demonstrating commitment to all of FirstEnergy's core values and behaviors through daily work tasks and project assignments.

* Applying Food Service fundamentals, including sanitation, procurement, product rotation, customer service, knife skills, and hygiene

* Preparing and setting up salad bar station including food prep, inventory ordering/management and cleaning.

* Coordinating catering for both internal and to-go, including cold food prep, packing, delivering, breaking down, courier coordinating, occasional planning

* Demonstrating a sense of urgency for reaching goals and meeting deadlines.

* Managing daily tasks and medium projects simultaneously

* Developing alternatives and recommendations for customers, creating project deliverables, and helping to improve work processes.

**Qualifications**

* High school diploma or GED required and minimum of 2 years relevant work experience. Relevant work experience includes catering, food service preparation, and banquets.

* Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word preferred.

* Demonstrate growth in use of research techniques such as recipe research and development, and basic industry trends.

* Display problem solving and decision-making abilities.

* Able to work as part of a team.

* Able to physically perform tasks involving bending, stooping, lifting up to 50 pounds, and walking and standing for extended periods of time.

* Manager-level ServSafe Certified or become certified within six months of hiring.

* Effective written, verbal communication and time management skills.

* Deliver quality, accurate work within established deadlines.
