Supports the day-to-day operations for a professional aircraft detailing services company based at an OEM Aircraft Station or Completion Center. The Aircraft Detailer will perform all exterior and interior cleaning of the aircraft. The Aircraft Detailer will comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the OSHA Act of 1970, which are applicable to his own actions and conduct.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Clean and polish exterior and interior of aircraft
  • Sand and polishing of aircraft painted and aluminum surfaces
  • Condition leather
  • Clean and polish wood, metal hardware and fabrics
  • Sanitize galley and lavatory surfaces
  • Follow Quality Management System procedures
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Follows all department safety guidelines and ensure proper usage of tools and personal
  • protection equipment
  • Must maintain personal appearance according to company guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned, but not covered herein
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to observe details within 10 feet of the observer
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, grasp with hands, climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl or maintain balance. Occasionally sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Frequently moves boxes weighing up to 40 pounds to cart and wheel to assigned work area for various needs
  • Must have the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
  • Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions; must be able to work in all-weather
Environments
  • This position needs to often moves about inside the hangar and/or office area to access aircraft and aircraft related equipment, etc
  • Often ascends/descends a ladder/stair to service aircraft and often operates mobile equipment such as a lift and motor vehicle, so must have the ability to reach heights up to 25 feet, climb ladders, stairs, and scissor lift equipment
  • Ability to work with tools, equipment, and materials related to aircraft detailing frequently
  • Able to pass a Pulmonary Function Test to obtain respirator certification (if required)
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated computer software experience with MS Office (MS Word and Excel)
  • Proven experience in effective verbal and nonverbal communication
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment checks (i.e.: criminal background, drug tests, motor vehicle record, etc.)
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must successfully pass AOA/TSA badging and fingerprinting process at assigned airport, where applicable
  • Valid driver's license and verifiable driving record is required as this position requires. driving/operating company vehicle and/or equipment
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment checks (i.e., criminal background, drug tests, motor vehicle record, etc.) required for the job
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School education or GED required, with Associate Degree preferred
  • At least six months' experience is preferred
