OBJECTIVE:
Under general supervision and guidance of the Recreation Supervisor, the Dawson Concession Stand Attendant is responsible for operating and handling the functions of the concession stand, including: food and beverage sales, proper food handling, accurate cash handling and deposits, customer service, following proper regulations for selling of beer, general maintenance and following local health department regulations.

(Approximately 3-20 hours per week) based on preferences and field activity.

RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to: Recreation Supervisor

Works with seasonal employees regularly and communicates with other Division employees, softball players and spectators, and the general public.
Essential Duties

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  1. Ensures concession stand is properly ready for planned schedule
  2. Oversees cleanliness and sanitation of concession stand and concession area.
  3. Greets the public and provides good customer service.
  4. Adheres to proper food handling procedures.
  5. Sells food and beverages and follows proper cash handling and safe cash storage procedures.
  6. Maintains an accurate cash drawer.
  7. Maintains proper use, daily set-up, shut- down, and clean-up of concession equipment.
  8. Completes a nightly bank deposit and completion of nightly shift report documents.
  9. Properly checks ID's for legal serving of fermented malt beverages.
  10. Reports any issues to Supervisor.
  11. Adheres to proper food handling procedures.
OTHER DUTIES:
  1. Accurately completes all inventory/order forms.
  2. Restocks product throughout shift as necessary.
  3. Disposes of trash and recycling in proper containers.
  4. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Position Requirements/Qualifications

RECOMMENDED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the essential duties of the position.

Education, Certifications and Experience:
  1. Must be 18 years of age or older.
  2. Experience working with a cash register or serving/selling food preferred.
  3. Completion of Wisconsin Seller/Server online course or willing to complete.
  4. Bartender's certification or willing to obtain with assistance.
Skill in:
  1. Customer service and cash handling
Ability to:
  1. Be motivated, dependable and conscientious of health standards.
  2. Ability to follow city/department/division policies, work independently and make sound decisions.
  3. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with city employees, department professionals, staff, customers and the general public.
  4. Communicate effectively and to follow verbal and written instructions.
  5. Count back change to customers.
  6. Work a variety of flexible shifts to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  7. Work with minimal supervision and within the boundaries of responsibility.
  8. Maintain a positive behavior and professional demeanor at all times; address resident and customer concerns in a helpful, courteous manner.
  9. Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures, and report all unsafe activities or conditions to supervisor.
Supplemental Information

EQUIPMENT, INSTRUMENTS AND MACHINES:
Equipment used includes a cash register, pizza machine, microwave, nacho/pretzel warmer, hot chocolate machine, coffee maker, fridge, and freezer.

PHYSICAL FACTORS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by any an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  1. Work will take place in an outdoor environment and varying types of weather, including possibility of high heat and humidity.
  2. Working conditions involve occasional exposure to dirt, dust, and moisture.
  3. Perform basic activities, which may include, but not limited to: lifting, stooping, semi-reaching to full-reach overhead, crouching, kneeling, bending, twisting, turning, and lying on stomach and/or back.
  4. Must be able to sit or stand and move for long periods of time.
  5. See and observe all sections of an assigned area of responsibility, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  6. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
