Newton-Wellesley Hospital Out-Patient Rehabilitation (PT/OT/SLP) is looking for talented, energetic, innovative, and organized individual for Rehab Aide Position.Newton-Wellesley Hospital Rehabilitation Department is committed to providing an exceptional patient experience through consistent customer service and evidenced based practice.We promote clinical and professional development through mentorship with Clinical Specialists, continuing education, in-service/case presentations and participation in community outreach and professional organization activities.Rehab Aides are in integral part of our team in coordinating excellent care to patients, assisting therapists in their daily functions, and maintaining the overall operations in the rehab facility.Opportunities exist for direct observation and mentorship in preparation for acceptance into graduate school.

Principle Duties and Essential Functions.

Under the general supervision of professional clinical staff prepares patient care spaces and equipment for treatment intervention.

Cleans and prepares all treatment areas and equipment as necessary before and after care.Cleans and maintains equipment as appropriate.Follows maintenance schedule and obtains necessary repairs services and authorizations for equipment repair as necessary.

Maintains daily temperatures logs of appropriate equipment to assure that they remain within the approved range (Hydrocollator, Paraffin.Notifies engineering, Biomed, other contractors as necessary for equipment maintenance.

Maintains an inventory of clinical supplies for the department and is responsible for ordering supplies and equipment as needed.

Communicates with contracted maintenance companies. Stocks delivered departmental supplies and provides the Manager with the accompanying invoices, bills and PO's.Orders and stocks linens on a daily basis. Assures par levels are appropriate to accommodate for fluctuating patient care needs.

Transports patients to and from treatment areas as necessary.

Assists Clinical Staff with delegated direct patient care activities including therapeutic exercise, and education.Under the supervision of clinical staff, applies thermo-modalities and assists with set-up and take-down of other treatment modalities.

Assists training new rehab aides and co-op students to assigned tasks and procedures.

Assists support staff by scheduling patients, checking-in patients, and answering phones in the front office.

Qualifications - External

EDUCATION:High School graduate or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills.Must be well organized and have sound judgment.NWH CPR with AED training required.
