Plant operator will need to understand and operate all plant processes and procedures, while keeping a safe and clean working environment. The Plant Operator reports to the General Manager.Major Accountabilities Produce and mix chemicals as neededUnderstand and operate plant equipment and processesLoad and Unload tanks, rail cars, tanker trailers, and all other containersRegularly lift 75 poundsOperate pumps, mixers, and blendersOperate forkliftKeep work area cleanLight maintenancePay: $25-28/hourShifts: Day, Swing, Graveyard - we also have 12 hour rotating shifts.QualificationsPlant OperatorThatcher Company of California, Inc. is seeking a qualified plant operator to work in our Sacramento, CA facility. Basic qualifications include:Desire and demonstrated ability to work safely and promote safety and safe work practices.Be quality conscious.High School diploma or equivalent.Stability in work history. Prefer minimum of 2-3 years prior work experience.Willing to submit to a background screening.Willing to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and physical.Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language well. This is a safety as well as an operational issue.Aptitude to follow written and verbal instructions in detail and learn additional skills with experience.Capacity to work in extreme conditions (temperature) and lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.Flexibility to work varying hours or shifts if necessary.Experience in manufacturing environment including use of tools and equipment is preferred.Ability to wear applicable personal protective equipment (PPE) including chemical resistant gloves and boots, safety glasses, hard hat, face shield, full-face respirator (if required), chemical splash suit (overalls and jacket).Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.Must be eligible to work in the USThis job does not offer sponsorship.Why Thatcher is right for youCompetitive salaryThe founder of our company set up a defined contribution Profit Sharing Retirement Plan to reward the efforts and loyalty of all our employees.
