What will you be doing?

Architecting Solutions:

In coordination with one of Velo's Strategy engineers (often called a virtual Chief Information Officer), you will receive technical and business requirements along with the outline of a proposed solution from the Strategy engineer. With this, you will reference our standards and build a proposed solution that meets the client's needs and adheres to our standards and best practices. These solutions most often include cloud infrastructure solutions by way of Microsoft Azure and 365, and on-premise solutions such as servers, SANs, firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless equipment. Once you have architected a solution, you will have a team of other engineers to peer review your work to ensure everything is accurate and ready for delivery to the client. Delivering Quotes: Our clients will often request updated licensing, hardware, and other software items, and it will be your job to identify the best solution and provide a quote meeting the client's needs. This could include laptops, desktops, and other peripherals the client needs. It is your job to quickly provide the client with the latest pricing and availability and help them decide on the computing solution they require. Procurement: Once a client approves a quote or agrees to a project based on one of your architected solutions, you will work with our manufacturers and distributors to source all the needed hardware, software, and cloud services. Tracking each order through to delivery helps set our project team up for success with their schedules and keeps the client informed of the progress on their order. Who will you be working with?

Velo places a high value on existing IT experience, especially experience in the Managed Services realm! Specifically, experiences and knowledge around designing Cisco WAN/LAN solutions, Microsoft Windows Server solutions, and VMware-based solutions are desired. Any candidate with certifications related to these technologies is highly desirable. A Technical or 4-Year Degree is preferred, but experience with business-grade IT solutions is a must.
