The ideal candidate will thrive in the role where they can perform the following with success:• Communicate with students, graduates, faculty, administrative, and clinical site leaders relevant to existing and new clinical sites and contractual agreements. • Coordinate student fieldwork activities and track and verify all program clinical affiliation contracts. • Ensure contracts with clinical sites are current, accurate, viable, and adequate in meeting program needs.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSSecure new clinical sites and contractual agreements. Ensure contracts with clinical sites are current, accurate, viable, and adequate to meet program needs.Review student success rates by class and implement a plan to reduce student withdrawals. Meet with students to encourage them to stay in the program. Maintain an 80% student success rate for all classes taught in the program.Monitor competency evaluations and clinical records with students. Conduct orientation for students at each clinical education site.Maintain student grades by established policies. Prepare final grades at the end of each semester to update student records and transcripts.Evaluate students' performance regarding course objectives and make necessary provisions to meet learning needs.Visit clinical sites to review and evaluate students' clinical performance and progress. Coordinate with site instructors to ensure effective clinical education. Communicate progress and performance during fieldwork visits.Ensure that academic and fieldwork instructors collaborate in establishing clinical objectives. Communicate curriculum objectives to instructors.Coordinate and revise the clinical education plan for the occupational therapy assistant program. Recommend changes to the Program Director. Ensure instructors collaborate to design appropriate fieldwork experiences.May assist the Program Director with student applicants for admission into the program.Develop clinical objectives and evaluations. •Coordinate with clinical staff to establish a regular site for students. Coordinate the scheduling of students within the department. Perform the duties of an Occupational Therapy Assistant instructor.The list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBaccalaureate degree from an institution accredited by a national or regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE). If the bachelor's degree was awarded before July 1, 2015, from an institution not regionally or nationally accredited at that time, the degree is still acceptable if the institution has since obtained regional or national accreditation.For degrees from an institution outside the U.S., ACOTE will determine an alternative and equivalent external review process.Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy or Occupational Therapy Assistant program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).Three (3) years of clinical practice experience in occupational therapy or occupational therapy assistant.Licensed Occupational Therapy or Occupational Therapy Assistant or credentialed according to regulations in the state where the program is located.Documented expertise in areas of teaching responsibility and knowledge of the content delivery method.Experience as a clinical instructor and clinical coordinator preferred.Verbal and written communication skills.Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other computer skills.
