On the Core Technology team we are passionate about enabling engineers and engineering leaders across Zillow Group through tooling, data and analysis. We partner closely with product, engineering, and operations teams across all product lines.

About the role

Zillow is looking for a Principal Analyst to join the ODAM (Operational Data and Metrics) team. This role will enable engineering teams to make data-informed decisions with insights, right metrics, and visibility. To be successful in this role you will:

• Lead engineering productivity and delivery excellence analytics efforts across ZG

• Define, measure, and report on success metrics for various engineering teams

• Use data to generate insight and identify opportunities for engineering improvements on core metrics

• Partner with engineering and Data engineering to build the most effective consumable datasets

• Partner with engineering leaders across the organization to deliver impactful solutions to business problems

Zillow está buscando un Principal Analyst para unirse al equipo de ODAM (métricas y datos operativos). Esta función permitirá a los equipos de ingeniería tomar decisiones basadas en datos con conocimientos, métricas correctas y visibilidad. Para tener éxito en este deberás:

• Liderar los esfuerzos de análisis de excelencia en la productividad y la entrega de ingeniería en todo ZG.

• Definir, medir e informar sobre métricas de éxito para varios equipos de ingeniería.

• Utilizar datos para generar conocimientos e identificar oportunidades para mejoras de ingeniería en métricas centrales.

• Hacer equipo con ingeniería e ingeniería de datos para crear los conjuntos de datos consumibles más eficaces.

• Hacer equipo con líderes de ingeniería de toda la organización para ofrecer soluciones que aporten a resolver los problemas comerciales.

This role has been categorized as a teleworker position. Teleworkers do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any part of Mexico, but preferably in Mexico City, as we would encourage attendance for occasional in-office events.

In addition to a competitive base salary and benefits, this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location.

Who you are

• 8-10 years experience in an analytical role

• 3-4 years of experience communicating regularly with Senior stakeholders

• Expert in SQL, Excel, and either Tableau, Mode, or other visualization software. Experience with data pipelines is preferred.

• Expert in testing hypothesis for key metric trend movements

• Strong bias for action and impact informed by your data insights

• Ability to design and communicate your analytical roadmap to peers and stakeholders

• Strong business acumen, communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally and connect customer problems to business strategy.

• Expert at applying the “80/20” rule and estimating the impact and relative priority of a potential analysis projects

• Experience with engineering metrics reporting is preferred

• 8-10 años de experiencia en un rol analítico.

• 3-4 años de experiencia comunicándote regularmente con partes interesadas en un nivel Senior.

• Experto en SQL, Excel y Tableau, Mode u otro software de visualización. Se prefiere experiencia con canalizaciones de datos.

• Experto en probar hipótesis para movimientos de tendencia de métricas clave.

• Fuerte predisposición a la acción y el impacto informado por sus conocimientos de datos.

• Capacidad para diseñar y comunicar tu hoja de ruta analítica a pares y partes interesadas.

• Fuerte visión para los negocios, habilidades de comunicación y capacidad para trabajar de manera multifuncional y conectar los problemas de los clientes con la estrategia comercial.

• Experto en aplicar la regla “80/20” y estimar el impacto y la prioridad relativa de un proyecto de análisis potencial.

• Se prefiere experiencia con informes de métricas de ingeniería.
