Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity to showcase your skills and knowledge? Look no further! Leidos is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO. As a member of the SLMS mission, you'll be supporting Space-Based Infrared Systems (SBIRS), PSF/SNP Program Office, Greeley Air National Guard, Colorado, and Buckley AFB. This technical position conducts research and modernization activities for the SBIRS Survivable and Endurable elements’ phased array antennas, data processing subsystems, and UHF communications rack equipment. We provide depot level maintenance support to the 233rd Space Group, Greeley, CO. The electrical engineer will update Technical Orders (TO) and compose Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO). They will respond to emergency issues at the 233rd Space Group by providing on-site support and troubleshooting of Mobile Ground Terminals/Communication Vehicles. This includes performing mission vehicle capabilities requirements analyses to develop and prioritize sustainment activities.

The electrical engineer will have some specialized training and experience in the areas of system controls and satellite communications systems. They will apply this expertise to mission vehicle components. As an electrical engineer, the candidate will support modernization efforts to include requirements analysis, product selection, functional analysis and decomposition. The candidate will also support validation and verification of product suitability and maintainability.
This position will work both independently and in small, multi-functional groups. They will generally work under the guidance of a more senior engineer or technician, but must be able to work independently when provided with appropriate direction, and proactively ask questions, seek additional guidance, and recommend solutions when reaching road blocks. The electrical engineer will produce or provide input to status reports, and may be called upon to discuss or represent problems, progress, findings or outcomes in a group setting with mixed technical, leadership, junior, peer and senior participants.
Primary Responsibilities
The candidate will be responsible for modification projects in the field of electrical, mechanical, or information technologies in support of the overall team goals. Within each task, they will review the performance and environmental requirements and recommend solutions to the lead engineer. Upon the engineering team’s approval, they will develop procurement and installation plans. Additional tasks include capturing the work in Space Force Technical Orders. The contract requires the SLMS team to provide emergency or urgent depot level support to return mission equipment to operations. This will require short-term travel to Greeley, Colorado, or other remote operating locations. The individual will identify the cause of the outage and repair the equipment if possible. If immediate repair is not possible, the candidate will support the team in developing a course of action to return the equipment to service and provide status until complete.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
4 years of experience
US Citizen; Currently possessing a DoD Secret Security Clearance
Technical writing and reporting skills.
The ability to capture installation, removal and maintenance procedures in the Space Force Technical Order system.
The ability to update technical data packages to include red lining drawings, updating bills of materials and adapting commercial manuals for Space Force use.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge and understanding of system controls and RF communication systems as related to military vehicles and their construction or repair.
Clear and professional written and verbal communication with junior peers, senior company, task or company co-workers, and leadership.
Familiarity with encryption, fiber optics, and legacy data processing systems.
Familiarity with power production and HVAC electronics.
Familiarity with satellite communications equipment.
Ability to perform minor modifications using AutoCad or similar software.
Ability to work in small teams to resolve technical issues.
