Full Time Employee Contractor
STS International is seeking a Senior Logistics Specialist to provided support in logistics and/or procurement for master project or one or more sub projects. Senior Specialists may manage and will participate in planning, implementation, operation, and performance of logistics and/or procurement functions, including supply chain, acquisition, distribution, and transportation. Senior level specialists may act as lead in directing the work of lower level specialists.
This position is located full-time in Charleston, SC. Local candidates will be given priority as relocation is not available.
Responsible for materials planning and acquisition to support production schedules.
Researches, locates, and negotiates with qualified sources of supplies.
May negotiate pricing and request quotes from vendors, and recommend the most qualified source to meet budget and scheduling objectives.
Implements material shipment controls and inventory control (including GFE).
May manage and oversee the creation, receipt and/or processing and tracking of requests for materiel, track purchase orders and reconcile invoices.
Responds to inquiries regarding shipment or inventory status in a timely manner.
Ensures that necessary databases, spreadsheets, reports and records for material control are maintained
Conducts and/or assists with audits to verify inventory and minimize discrepancies/ duplications and prepares subsequent reports and documentation as assigned.
May subsequently identify the need to adjust procedures or future orders.
May participate and support activities to identify and implement new tools and/or methods aimed at improving efficiency and best value pricing objectives as needed.
May be responsible for managing and evaluating the performance of lower level specialists.
Supports other program personnel as required.
Verbal and written communications must be timely and of consistently high quality in content, style and clarity.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Professional Logistics Certification ? i.e., Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certified in Lifecycle [Acquisition] Logistics Level 2, or have equivalent logistics training, or possess an additional three (3) years working in direct support of defense life-cycle logistics.
10 years of experience in defense life-cycle (acquisition) logistics support (or 13 years if not DAWIA Level 2 certified) of electronic systems, to include: logistics management, principles, practices, and processes.
6 years of experience in support of C4ISR systems. Demonstrated management skills, to include: Analyzing Contracts, Analyzing System Design Specifications, Analyzing Engineering/Systems Management Data, Developing Logistics Plans and Procedures, and Developing Logistics Management Plans and Guidelines. Experience supervising Logistics Specialists.
Note: Experience may be concurrent.
