Job Description: This fulltime position will support the Navy Personnel Command for program support of the EMPRS and BUPERS On-line systems. The candidate must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment and develop software in web or thin client environments. Candidate will interface with end- users, system engineers and database administrators on a regular basis so interpersonal skills are a must. Candidate is expected to have the analysis skills to solve problems.
Strongly serve and support the Product Owner and Development Team in their quest to do everything possible to meet customer expectations.
Provide all support to the team using a servant leadership style and leading by example. This person should personify Scrum and Agile.
Guide and Coach the Scrum Teams and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values.
Assess the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coach the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization.
Remove impediments or guide the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment.
Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.
Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information.
Support and educate the Product Owner, especially with respect to refining and managing the product backlog.
Required Education and Experience:
A Bachelor?s degree and 5+ years of experience. Four additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Scrum Master certification Desired ((PSM I/II, CSM, CSP)
- Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least one year for a software development team.
- Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
- Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach(example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc).
U.S. Citizenship is required. This position requires a background check and that the candidate currently be and remain eligible for a SECRET clearance.
Prior to the hire date, the candidate must possess, a Security+ certification.
