Job Description:
We are looking for a senior level engineer (5-10 years? experience) in the areas of electronic packaging, die attach/wire bonding, and surface mount technology. You are responsible to work independently as well as build and lead a team to develop the manufacture process of microelectronics assemblies. You may also be responsible to lead the effort to develop automated assembly equipment for production.

Responsibilities:

  • Background in the manufacturing of electronics for high reliability military and government systems.
  • Take complete ownership of packaging processes including but not limited to flip chip, die attach, wire bonding, seam sealing, tack welding, solder ball attach, wafer saw etc.
  • Support or lead the new production introduction for volume production of integrated microelectronic products.
  • Design, document and optimize new manufacturing process/assembly steps and operating procedures for existing and new equipment.
  • Create and release equipment specifications and drawings, establish calibration and preventative maintenance requirements.
  • Maintain equipment/machine programs/fixtures.
  • Improve current manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to find root cause of manufacturing process problems, workmanship defects, mechanical test failures, etc.; and help develop solutions that prevent recurrence. Is preferred.
Required Skills:
  • Project leadership and ability to lead teams
  • Knowledge of electronics packaging manufacturing process equipment and processes.
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, meet deadlines and manage time independently.
  • Strong problem solving, teamwork, project management, and communication skills
  • B.S. in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 5-10 years proven engineering experience
  • Being able to work a flexible schedule when dealing with critical production line issues
  • Experience with statistical analysis and designing experiments, is a plus.
  • Knowledge of MIL/ IPC workmanship and performance standards related to electronic assemblies (MIL-STD-883, MIL-PERF-38535, IPC-610, etc.), is a plus.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

Required Education (including Major):
  • B.S. in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
