Description: This Lead System Engineer to provide support and lead for the JP-9711 program System engineering activities.

During the System Requirements Analysis phase, the Lead Systems Engineer will be responsible for Program planning support, System Engineering planning, and System Requirements decomposition and maintenance, and development of the system functional architecture. The SE will prepare and present materials at the combined System Requirements/System Design Review.

During the preliminary design phase of the program, the systems engineer will be responsible for support of the development of initial design documentation, performance specifications and interface control documents. The SE will also perform technical analysis, support peer reviews, metrics collection, analysis and reporting, supporting subcontractors design analysis, as well as support the formal Preliminary Design Review (PDR) by preparing and presenting materials at the review.

During the detailed design phase of the program, the systems engineer will support development of design documentation, performance specifications, test procedures and interface control documents. The SE will continue to manage the Requirements Database and update the Requirements Traceability Verification Matrix (RTVM). The SE will also perform technical analysis, support peer reviews, metrics collection, analysis and reporting, supporting subcontractors design analysis, as well as support the formal Critical Design Review (CDR) by preparing and presenting materials at the review.

During the System Integration and Test phase of the program the systems engineer will provide the following support; development of test procedures, Simulation modeling and prototyping for integration (as required), initial setup and management of the training device network, management of the requirements database and RTVM, system architecture and system design, support test documentation development, metrics collection, analysis and reporting and supporting formal reviews with subcontractors, TRR, etc. The SE will also support the formal test stage of the program for each of the Devices.


This position requires a solid understanding of the System Engineering Life cycle.

This Lead System Engineer needs a solid background in System Requirements/Analysis, System Design, Detail Design, Hardware Software Integration (HSI) Systems Integration and Test (SI&T)proficiencies. The engineer will contribute to the development of hardware and software requirements based on project scope, technical specifications, and desired operational capabilities.

The engineer will design, integrate, and test our hardware and software modules on a day-to-day basis. The engineer will work through integration, test and delivery as needed.

Troubleshooting existing baselines will be necessary to ensure product quality. The engineer will collaborate with other teammates and other engineering disciplines to include hardware engineers, systems engineers, documentation packages, project management, of documents, support of peer reviews, program presentations, audits, quality control and technical direction.

The system engineer will interfaces with the customer and subcontractors as necessary to ensure the success of the program. Technical knowledge is combined with cost and schedule requirements to ensure the program is meeting documentation deadline and cost estimates.
Desired Skills: Demonstrated engineering experience with understanding of the total lifecycle for complex hardware/software systems.

Familiarity with hardware/software configuration management and product change workflow.

Integration and test experience for complex hardware / software systems

Experience with DOORs requirement management tool

Ability to work in a team focused, dynamic environment.

Possess a ability to lead/work all aspects of the systems engineering efforts associated with the development, integration and demonstration of a system solution which complies with all performance requirements.

The individual must have the experience, drive, and demonstrated capability to lead a team of engineers and personnel of varying disciplines to provide technical excellence and mission success.

The individual have experience on Project and program coordination experience with customer.

Experience coordinating projects across multiple geographic distributed locations.

Strong understanding of the system Engineering Life cycle process and a I&T background.
Basic Qualifications: Significant Leadership & Engineering experience and a high level of proficiency leading system development across the entire program lifecycle.

The individual must have the experience, drive, and demonstrated capability to lead a team of engineers and personnel of varying disciplines to provide technical excellence and mission success.

Must be able to obtain or currently have a DoD Secret clearance.

Thorough understanding of training system and software architecture and system development process.

Proficiency in project coordination tasks, including development and maintenance of an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and associated budget.

Ability to understand contractual, programmatic and technical issues and be proactive to achieve the desired results and closure.

Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills including a demonstrated ability to interact effectively and build strong relationships with customers, subcontractors, management and vendors.

Previous Cost Account Management (CAM) experience.

Supports senior staff as required and ensures customer requirements and project milestones are met.
