Program Sustainment and Integration Engineer

Represents organization as prime technical contact on contracts and projects. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.


- Primary SETA support to the government for integration and sustainment of OPIR ground systems at the operational site

- Responsible for tracking progress and compliance with acquisition/integration (e.g. NSIS) milestones and installation delivery requirements for ISPO delivered capabilities

- Provide technical oversight of all programs under the PSI government lead’s purview

- Represent the mission as interface between the system users, the program office, and the systems developers to ensure that requirements and user needs are met

- Integration Activities – assists government with overseeing delivery activities from RFC review through Operations Acceptance Review (OAR)

- Maintains awareness of and technical familiarity with new programs in development planned for delivery to the site to include potential impacts to existing legacy systems

- Interact with program office and developers to maintain cognizance of delivery status

- Interact with site security administrators (SAs) and system maintainers to provide guidance (at government direction) on system accreditation and maintenance activities

- Provide guidance to development programs on integration and ops sustainment protocols under the PSI government lead’s purview

- Maintains strong working knowledge of established integration standards, e.g., NSIS, GED Integration and Readiness Guide, Cloud Adoption Gide to verify and report on compliance by delivering organizations

- Participate in document review, technical meetings, testing activities, milestone meetings as directed to identify, report, and resolve any potential integration issues

- Work with assigned site System Integrator to oversee integration activities and report status/issues to government and assist in resolution

- Supply technical recommendations to the government lead for milestone decisions (ORR, TTO, OAR, etc.)

- Works with site operations personnel during Operational readiness Demonstration (ORD) periods to ensure delivered products meet user needs

- Participate in and respond to identified actions from ORD status meetings

- Employ Agile (SCRUM) techniques to

- Create and status stories and epics for PSI specific activities included in the program office agile development tracking

- Review program acquisition and milestone delivery documents for accuracy and completeness – RFCs, Milestone Briefings, etc.

- Support government in facilitating integration of related DoD capabilities

- Support government in facilitating integration of related C2S capabilities

- Acquire certification (as necessary) as an NGA Data Transfer Officer (DTO) to support transfer of developer provided software onto OPIR systems

- Acquire certification as necessary to support integration and sustainment activities (PMP, AGILE, etc.)

- Sustainment Activities – assists government with overseeing day-to-day management of OPIR ground systems and maintenance personnel

- Provide current operations support including daily review of operational issues and logs for morning briefing to GSD leadership

- Support government in directing and monitoring activities related to anomaly resolution; provide verbal and written updates to site and program office management

- Monitor outage reports and discrepancy system for new and ongoing problems

- Assist program developers with setting priorities for content of software deliveries based on operational needs/priority requests

- Miscellaneous Activities – Participate in recurring status and program management meetings; provide status updates as needed; generate activity reports; generate anomaly reports; generate monthly metrics for discrepancy reports; build information and decisional briefs and documents as requested; participate in program management reviews; manage system software license renewals; conduct document reviews (RFCs, ICDs, DDDs, etc.); interact with site security personnel to facilitate visitor access

Clearance Required to start: TS/SCI with Polygraph

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
