Job Summary
 
The Time and Labor (TLS) Supervisor is responsible for administering the collection, review, and entry of employee timekeeping records in accordance with company policies. Partners with Payroll and Human Resources (HR) to continuously look for internal control and productivity improvement opportunities and to implement approved initiatives.
 
Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
  • Supervises the collection, review, and entry of employee labor hours and other payroll-related data into an automated payroll system.
  • Reviews accuracy of all approved timesheets and ensures that hours are coded per policy.
  • Tracks missing timesheets or other information necessary to complete process
  • Performs timesheet edit report audits
  • Reviews the accuracy of employees compensation, requests and adjustments and provides the necessary information for corrections
  • Handle and research employee’s complaints and discrepancies
  • Maintains timesheet files
  • Adds new employees
  • Assigns delegates and alternate supervisors
  • Unlocks accounts, resets passwords and prepares timesheets for a final export
  • Transfers employees to another organization for time-keeping purposes
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of accounting systems.
  • Extensive skill with using spreadsheet and data base applications.
  • Effective decision making and problem solving.
  • Requires little supervision for multiple tasks assigned. 
  • PeopleSoft experience preferred but not required.

Experience & Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years experience related to accounting.  Payroll experience preferred.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

  • Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.
  • Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
  • Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions
