Provides installation, maintenance and troubleshooting support of information systems applications and related peripheral hardware.

  • Monitors and responds to hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques.
  • Installs and configures applications software and related hardware (such as desktops, servers, and related peripherals like printers, scanners, drives, monitors and video teleconferencing hardware).
  • Provides software and system troubleshooting and support.
  • Provides technical support and training to end-users.
  • Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced technicians, and may have limited supervisory responsibilities.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
  • Participates in special projects as required.

Qualifications:

5-8 years of directly related experience supporting information systems operations.

Install, troubleshoot, repair, maintain and upgrade all PC hardware to include peripherals to ensure optimal performance.
  • Answer inquiries and troubleshoot software and hardware failures either in person or on the phone.
  • Perform hardware and software moves, adds, and changes.
  • Ensure systems and related equipment are in working condition.
  • Maintain records on inventory, repairs, downtime changes, and updates.
  • Maintain customer service ensuring that all customers are treated efficiently and in an appropriate manner as well as providing technical support and training to customers.
  • Maintain excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical customers and team members.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
  • Participate in special projects as required
Required Skills:
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues ranging from physical hardware, to network, to user profiles
  • Understanding of SCCM and other remote management tools
  • Experience with thin client set-up and Active Directory
  • Familiarity with basic router configurations and commands
  • Knowledge and understanding of the OSI model
  • Manage and document approved changes to the enterprise baseline
Must possess appropriate current DoD Information Assurance (IA) Certification to be considered for employment, either CompTIA Security+ CE, Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), OR CCNA-Security. CompTIA Security + CE is the preferred certification. Must attain the required DoD 8570 Certification prior to Hire Date.
 
Because of the sensitive nature of the work being done for this government client, all candidates must hold a TS/SCI with Polygraph. 
 

Candidate must possess appropriate current DoD Information Assurance (IA) Certification to be considered for employment, either CompTIA Security+CE, Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), OR CCNA-Security. CompTIA Security+ CE is the preferred certification. However, if the candidate does not have the current required certification, the candidate must successfully attain the required DoD 8570 Information Assurance (IA) Baseline certification within ninety (90) days after their first day of work; either valid CompTIA Security+ CE OR CCNA-Security certification. In addition, candidate must attain the required DoD 8570 Computing Environment (CE) Certification within one hundred eighty (180) days after IA Baseline Certification is obtained. After ninety (90) days of the candidate’s first day of work, failure to attain the required IA Baseline certification coupled with the computing environment mentioned may result in your employment ending with or without notice.
