Job Summary
The Information Technology (IT) Communications Supervisor is responsible for supervising the installation, maintenance, and administration of the voice radio, satellite, and data communication systems. 
Principal Accountabilities

  • Supervise team of technical personnel to support daily IT operations including network cabling, router and switch configurations, Microsoft Windows desktop support, server deployments and management, network traffic and bandwidth monitoring, and variety of hardware and software applications
  • Assign and monitor work, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures governing use of IT systems
  • Administer communication networks that may include setting up voice, radio, data network, satellite, and VSAT systems
  • Control physical inventory of IT software and hardware equipment, supervise process for property movement, and coordinate with appropriate agencies such as Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), leadership, and other departments
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft office software
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Ability to translate communication needs of employees/customers not versed in computer terminology for both hardware and software into meaningful solutions  

Experience & Education

  • Minimum six (6) years of IT experience
  • Prefer radio and telecommunications IT experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT communications or associated discipline; may substitute two (2) additional years of experience in related field for each year of college

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

  • Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
  • Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions
  • Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions
