Description:Lockheed Martin is seeking a Procurement Engineer to manage Complexity I Major Subcontracts on the C-130J Maintenance and Aircrew Training System(JMATS). The position will require working flexible hours and travel out of the assigned geographical area to support customers across the United States and International locations. Significant business travel would be required at times. Duties include:

Testing high fidelity C-130J Weapons System Trainers (WST), Enhanced Fuselage Trainers, full-motion flight simulators, aircraft maintenance trainers, and Loadmaster trainers

Manage several subcontracts and suppliers on several levels to the project/program schedule, cost, and technical requirements

Acting extension of Operations Project Manager for all C-130 training device builds in TLS Orlando facility

Provide C-130J aircraft and simulation expertise to aid suppliers in development, design, manufacturing, fabrication, modification, and delivery of C-130J aircraft modified to ground trainers that are fully mission capable (avionics, flight controls, engines, hydraulics, landing gear, simulation)

Act as the lead LM point of contact at customer and supplier sites identifying and mitigating supplier risks and providing creative solutions to problems

Accountable for all LM-build training device production management, defect burndown, providing production solutions, and material handling using COS

Performance at suppliers of scheduled product source inspections, first articles, and product line validations as outlined by AS9102 and applicable company and industry standards

Perform analysis and use data analytics to implement supplier countermeasures and drive performance improvement

Participate in source selection and supplier competition activities to evaluate total value to business

Provide internal and supplier support for root cause and corrective/preventive actions tied to Supplier Corrective Action Requests

Support Supplier requests tied to program requirements, interface with customer needs and program management activities

Implement supplier development, recovery, standard work used to develop suppliers to perform at World Class levels

Participate (as required) in supplier's failure/diagnosis and Material Review Board (MRB) activities

Perform on-going surveillance of supplier's conformance to Lockheed Martin requirement documents providing written weekly reports and interfacing with Senior Level Management

Provide technical liaison support related to quality engineering and supplier management matters

Lead Customer PCA and acceptance events at Customer sites

Ensure supplier contract flow-down requirements are implemented and verified and interfaces with supplier on a daily basis
Basic Qualifications:
Technical Engineering Degree or equivalent

Must have ability to obtain a security clearance

High technical aptitude and previous military aircraft experience

A strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

Strong understanding of engineering requirements management

High energy, self-starting, team player who achieves goals and delivers results

Presentation skills: PowerPoint, supporting documentation, verbal communication, facilitation, leadership

Must be able to identify and document supplier's quality deficiencies and ensure effective corrective action

Capable of performing root cause analysis and identifying solutions to complex problems

Understanding engineering drawings requirements mechanical and electrical inspection methods and design

Tactical position requiring ability to travel with short notice

Strong skill in managing and interfacing with suppliers on a daily bases to support the Program

Ability to certify/approve a supplier to perform specified processes

Ability to focus on continual improvement practices using causal analysis tools to drive corrective and preventive actions

Must have knowledge and understanding of critical design attributes and auditing/surveying capabilities

Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment

Must be able to multi-task, meet deadlines and to support all supplier quality field engineering activities

Strong communication skills (both oral and written) will be necessary to support the assignment and weekly reports

Must be able to effectively communicate and interface with Suppliers, Quality Program Management, Engineering, Supplier Quality Management, Sub-contracts Management Team and Customer Government Representatives

Capable of performing tasks and activities on aircraft, support equipment, and simulators that includes ability to climb stairs/ladders and crawl in confined spaces
Desired Skills:
SAP P2P and COS MRP/procurement systems

Manufacturing Engineering and Supply Chain experience

TLS Production experience

LM EPDM system and LM JIRA database

ASQ Certification or Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt/Black Belt)

Experience with working with suppliers and US Military customers in a dynamic environment

Experience with performing First Article Inspections to AS9102 requirements

Aircraft maintenance experience/knowledge and/or FAA A&P License and/or military Loadmaster/Crew Chief experience

Aircraft avionics and hydraulics experience/knowledge

Experience with system design validation, source inspection and surveillance activities at suppliers to the SSOW

Strong understanding in AS9100 and ISO9001 Quality Management Systems

Knowledge of Reduced Dimension Drawings and 3D Model change control

Experienced with generating and preparing CDRL document deliverables

Problem solving skills at a highly refined level

Skilled in supplier recovery, tools, and development activity with experience in Subtier Management, Cellular Manufacturing, 5S, equipment utilization rates, Kaizen events, Industrial Engineering, FIFO, Risk-Based Assessments, Lean, Configuration Management, Change Control, Requirements Management and waste reduction
