This Mission Management/Integration Engineering position requires at least a DoD Top Secret, SCI eligible clearance. This position is located in Colorado Springs, CO and will travel 25% of the time to Los Angeles AFB, in El Segundo CA.
Provide Mission Management / Integration Engineering support to Enterprise Ground Services (EGS) Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) 2.0 within the scope of the SMC Enterprise Corps Cross Mission Ground & Communications Directorate (ECX).
The Mission Manager will have outstanding satellite operations experience with payloads, mission planning/scheduling, and launch systems from pre-planning through execution. Strong understanding of operational mission ground systems, i.e. AFSCN, etc.. Understand Ground and Space C2 concepts and applications to support the mission integration between EGS and other space domain mission areas (such as GPS, OPIR, MilSATCOM, Weather Satellites, etc.). Coordinate with SMC’s mission partners in developing a sustainable war-fighting architecture and streamline the SMC processes to improve decision timeliness.
Develop Mission Integration transition plans to include, meeting mission partner needs, supporting special studies, developing FYDP planning, developing schedules, and other duties as required to support the EGS Mission Management Team.
Communicate effectively with SMC leadership including the Enterprise Ground Services PM, Mission Integrators, and Portfolio Architect. Manage the synchronization of Enterprise Space war-fighting requirements that support the SMC 2.0 strategy and deliver resilient and affordable capability to the war-fighter in a timely manner.
Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field. Master’s preferred
Full understanding of Department of Defense (DoD), Space and Missiles Systems (SMC), and Air Force Space Command (AFSPC) strategies and processes
10+ years of actively working in DoD space operations with a strong satellite and/or ground experience
Experience in developing and defining Space Enterprise architectures, requirements, and capabilities
7+ years of Space Systems Engineering and experience with operations at Schriever AFB, CO
Working knowledge of government contracts and acquisition processes
Experience in writing requirements documents, technical documents, memorandums etc.
Active TS/SCI clearance is required to be considered for this role
Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain / maintain a government TS/SCI security clearance
Ability to work with cross mission programs (Ground systems, Satellite programs, and networks etc.)
Ability to effectively communicate, present, and lead discussions with senior military and civilian leadership
Excellent leadership and communication skills with attention to detail
