Fort Greely Facilities technician, plumber, or electrician

Overview: We need a solid all around "handyman" to provide hands on support as needed for satcom facility infrastructure at Ft Greely, Alaska. Duties may include the diagnosing and repair of plumbing, A/C, or generator problems. An individual with experience and certifications as an HVAC tech or a former Army CE troop would fit the bill. Job comes with competitive salary and a housing allowance. EPA cert for handling refrigerant will be required. Need is immediate.

A+, Network+, or Sec+ certification required.

Primary Duty Responsibilities: The Fort Greely CE/Facilities technician performs repairs, submits work requests/service calls, and monitor status of work requests and service calls for any DSCS, Milstar, and DRSN HPS systems, ECUs, ACUs, and DSCS chillers installed equipment not functioning as designed and requiring maintenance or repair in compliance with Host Post procedures. The technician identifies requirements and initiates work requests, plus maintains a log of all Civil Engineering (CE) service calls, work requests, and job orders. The tech may also be asked to perform system analysis to identify and correct deficiencies known or suspected in the DSCS facility or the R&C facility.

Secondary Duty Responsibilities: Identifies requirements and initiate work requests for minor construction projects using the PWS directed forms or other applicable host Post forms. Develops and maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for contractor maintained utilities.

Additional Duties: Participates in Host Post environmental programs. Attends Environmental protection committee meetings , Host Post pollution prevention programs to include HAZMAT, HAZWASTE, affirmative procurement, energy conservation, solid waste management, recycling, and environmental compliance programs. Supports the host Post or main operating Post HAZMAT Pharmacy Program. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Relevant Experience: Associate degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent work experience of 1-3 years. Should have experience in construction work and operation and maintenance of electric utilities to include battery powered un-interruptible power supplies, Diesel generators, and Environment Control units and chillers.
Education: Associate degree in Engineering or equivalent experience. Certified on refrigerant dispensing and recovery and diesel generators.
Security Clearance: Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess a current DoD Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
