GDIT is leading the effort of developing the Joint Effect Model (JEM) for the Joint Project Manager Information Systems (JPM IS) under the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical and Biological Defense (JPEO-CBD).  JEM is a Web-based software application that supplies the Department of Defense (DoD) with a single accredited tool to effectively model and simulate the effects of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) weapon strikes and incidents.  JEM can provide warfighters with the ability to accurately model and predict the time-phased impact of CBRN and Toxic Industrial Chemical/Material (TIC/TIM) events and effects.


We are currently seeking a Test Principal Engineer to designs and develop tests and test requirements for products, systems, software and/or related components and equipment. You will also:  

  • Troubleshoot problems and documents findings of tests
  • Define testing processes and ensure tests adhere to established standards
  • Participate in quality assurance plan development
  • Provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced test engineers and you may have supervisory responsibilities
  • Serve as technical team or task lead
  • Make changes to methods, design or equipment where necessary
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned
  • Participate in special projects as required


  • 8-10 years of related experience in testing, engineering or quality assurance.
  • Ten (10) years’ experience in software development testing to include automated test tools, creating test procedures, defining and assessing test coverages, developing test cases and procedures to satisfy system requirements and verification and validation (V&V) of system components
  • Five (5) years’ experience across the project lifecycle for implementation(s) including test planning and execution and quality assurance
  • Five (5) years technical experience in support of CBRN hazard prediction modeling and/or simulation

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Chemical/Nuclear/Network Engineering, Physical Sciences, Mathematics or Computer Science or a related technical discipline
  • Masters’ Degree preferred
